Many of you will be now aware that a very useful device call the Meivertor is now available. I have been using it for a number of months now, and I must say finding it useful in many ways. It is readily useful in cases of:
  • Foreign body removal (from superior lid tarsal conjunctiva)
  • Contact lens fitting and assessment (assessing for superior lid MGD, GPC, dislocated CL under superior lid etc)
  • Removal of superior lid tarsal concretions 
  • Assessment of Lid Wiper Epitheliopathy
and many more. As well as a step forward in hygiene for practitioner and patient, it looks far more clinical and professional than all the alternatives; fingers, thumbs, cotton buds or even a pencil! In all cases, it can make lid manipulation easier, while leaving the other hand free, I've found.
