General Manager - PLM Optometrists was created by David Cummins
PLM Optometrists is an independent optometry business with 5 practices in Fife, Scotland.
We are looking for a General Manager to assist the 4 optometrist partners in the everyday running of the business, allowing them to spend more time with their patients. Role is based in Leven, Fife.
The General Manager will be essential in steering the company into the future. The successful candidate will work closely with partners & colleagues in achieving company goals.
Role:
1. Oversee day-to-day operations
2. Optimise business processes
3. Working with partners to deliver business strategy
4. Producing & analysing reports & advising partners
5. Reporting regularly to partners at monthly meeting & ad hoc basis
6. Liaising with bookkeeper
7. Handling queries, issues & concerns raised by coordinators
8. Managing utilities & general procurement
9. Coordinating business compliance activities
10. HR management – staff contracts & liaising with company advisers
11. Managing optometrist & optical assistant rotas
12. Managing staff holidays
13. Coordinating online presence, including website & social media content
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role (previous optical experience preferred but not essential)
2. Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
3. Strong analytical ability
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Outstanding organisational and leadership skills
6. Problem-solving aptitude
