On August 2nd I was hospitalised with acute liver failure, secondary to pancreatic cancer. A stent in my bile duct cleared the jaundice, and I underwent surgery on 23rd August for the cancer - the surgeon removed my spleen, gall bladder and pancreas, rendering me a type 3 diabetic (me neither). I am now recuperating at home, 4 weeks into a year's rehab.
We had to close down our business very quickly. Buckingham Opticians in Hull and Cottingham has an excellent reputation for outstanding customer service and providing top quality eyewear at reasonable prices. We achieved an annual turnover in excess of £135000 with just 4x45 minute appointments per session, with 9 sessions per week. We were just getting to the stage where we could take on more staff when the cancer struck. There is huge potential for expansion at both branches, especially in Cottingham.
The business is listed with Black's Brokers for £89950, with sensible offers considered.
