Southern / Northern Optical Sales Specialist
Customer groups: Calling on Opticians, Optometrists, Retail Pharmacies and Ophthalmologists when
Vacancy overview
Responsibility for raising the profile of the organisation and increasing market awareness of the
product portfolio across Dry Eye markets.
The Optical Sales Specialist will work closely with the commercial team to maximise product uptake
and sales success within the defined geography, working within the frameworks defined by the
Role responsibilities:
• To meet and exceed targets on the territory in line with company and budget expectations,
working closely with the UK commercial team.
• To work with customers to help develop their knowledge and awareness of the company
and product portfolio.
• To provide feedback to the company to help improve sales process and refine company
• To access customer groups on the territory
• To increase market share of the company products within the specific markets.
• Where necessary, to deliver sales presentations to the relevant customer groups.
• To work within assigned budget as directed by the company.
• To apply selling techniques to win new business and maintain existing accounts.
• To maximise the use of company promotional materials.
• To work at all times to the standards set out by the organisation.
• To work with the Sales Manager where necessary to account plan, identify and develop
opportunities on the territory and put these plans into action.
• To regularly analyse sales and activity and report this back to the organisation.
• To take an active role in company training activities.
• To become a product expert and continually develop product and therapy knowledge in
order to develop a thorough understanding of the market and competitors.
• To drive individual account strategy.
• To develop Key Opinion Leaders within the specific market.
• To reply and respond to customer requests for information.
• To manage time effectively and work to deadlines that are defined by the organisation.
• To share best practice.
• To continuously seek to improve personal skills, knowledge and competencies in order to
improve performance in line with the company objectives and personal development plan.
• To maintain accurate customer records using the company CRM system and adhere to all
company IT and administration standards.
• To gain a thorough understanding of company processes and systems and work to
administration standards set out by the company.
• To ensure company equipment and materials are kept in a well-maintained state.
Life. Health. Wellness.
• The ideal requirement is a background selling to Opticians and Retail Pharmacy within the
Optometry sector. Successful candidates will ideally have experience in the Dry Eye market.
• A life science, technical or business degree is preferred.
• Ability to be able to understand and interpret sales data.
• To be able to understand and interpret clinical information.
• Ability to work autonomously where necessary.
• A full driving licences.
• ABPI qualification preferred.
